WHAT WE DO

Causing Change Music LLC was founded in 1994 by Jeremy Heiden to be a record label, of, by and for the independent recording artist. The mission of the label was to keep music available always regardless of popularity. This was a very unique mission with a very unique working method. CCM would create an “ON DEMAND” CD service that would not only distribute product via the major distribution chains, but also direct to the end user from the CCM Web store. All artists were welcome and the revenue from the whole would be used to actually produce the more popular acts. CCM had over 300 titles in catalog by 2003 and had 12 CCM exclusive artists with numerous titles under each produced as official label roster acts. With over 80,000 units sold direct from the on-demand service, and many times that digitally CCM was a proven force in independent music licensing, production & distribution.

In 2004, after a strong 10 year run, CCM changed it’s business model from Production, to Instruction. While maintaing it’s catalog, CCM no longer aggressively sought new acts, but helped the independent artist find their way via mentoring and networking. Showing the newest talent how to survive “label free” in our new digital world.

Every title released under CCM between 1994 to present will be archived here. You will be able to see all the artwork for each release, listen to sound clips, learn a bit about the behind the scenes work that went into the releases as well as exclusive promotional materials, interviews and much more! CCM had over 300 releases and is over 17 terabytes of data. Sifting through this labyrinth can take some time, but we are uploading more every day!

Our philosophy is to never let anything go out of print. We try to release modern music on long gone formats so you can get new releases from CD to 8-Track.
